What did you do on 10/10/10?

We all love the number 10. It signifies fullness, completeness and perfection. When three tens appear together (this only happens every 100 years), it is really something special. Coincidentally, on 10/10/10, Hanoi celebrated its 1000th birthday. Unfortunately, I was not there to mark it. I remember the frustration that many people share about Hanoi - traffic jams, crowdedness, pollution - but the mind also has a special way to filter your memories and experiences. Now that I'm away from Hanoi, I miss it. I miss the hustle of the city every morning. I miss the excitement of the city on every special occassion. Sometimes I miss this busy life with rush to work, rush to school, rush to gathering with friends, rush for opportunities and advancement. People rush and crash into each other sometimes, but they are not lonely. They don't mind the occassional crash maybe because there's room for everyone to move forward.

How about you? What did you do on 10/10/10. What did you think about Hanoi? What special event happened on 10/10/10 that you want to report. Share with me and the rest of the class. I'd really like to hear.

  1. To me, Hanoi is a terible place to live: crowded, poluted, expensive city with harsh weather. If I do not have any friends in Hanoi, I cann't live in this city.

On 10/10/10, I didn't go anywhere because I was afraid of congestion. I think the government wasted too much money for 1000th anniversary. Actually, I didn't join in any activities that was related to this anniversary.
