Post your own news story - Week 3

Last week, the article I posted didn't receive many comments from class members. This week, we'll continue to read news on http://www.cnn.com/ or http://www.time.com/time/ or http://www.nytimes.com/ and analyze the language of news articles. However, I would like you to choose one news and post it on my and answer the same questions as on the previous post.

The questions include:

What comes to your mind just by looking at the headline?
What do you think the story is about?
Understanding the story
Who was the story credited to?
What happened?
Where did it happen?
Who provided the information?
What are some different explanations for the incident?
OR you can summarize the news story using your own language
Analyze the language
What do you think the main purpose a news report like this?
How many paragraphs are there in the article?
What is the function of the first paragraph?
What are some common features of different paragraphs in the article?
Do you notice anything interesting about the tone of the author(s) and the language used to convey such tone
